So I haven’t written anything in a long while. It isn’t that I haven’t anything to say … God knows I never shut up … but perhaps I have nothing to write. HMMMMM!!! Ok! So here’s what’s happening. Beth is recovering little by little. Business is busy. The theater company is doing exciting things like our next [...] So …. in the back of the office we have a mini theater, of sorts. Just a small area where we humble , noble, actor types can hang out to rehearse and play. It’s perfect. It’s small. We can do staged readings and little tiny productions for little tiny groups of like 30 people or [...] OMG it’s over. The wonderful show from hell is now completed and I am onto the next project. We did not suck up the place and lots of people came to see it. All the kids (10-87) were great. Everyone sang and danced their little hearts out. It is no surprise that Marie Burke at [...] Marie Burke is 87 years old. She recently lost her husband Ray after 63 years of marriage. She is actively involved with our theater company, she volunteers at the hospital that Beth is being treated at, drives herself just about everywhere and keeps all of our spirits up with her good humor and amazing heart. Those of you who are theater people … particularly community theater people, will be familiar with the term “hell week”. This is the last week before a production opens during which everyone panics and the director insists that the cast rehearse every possible waking moment that they are not working, eating or sleeping. When you are [...] We went to see some movies this week. We saw Doubt on Christmas evening and Milk yesterday morning. Having seen Doubt at the Tampa theater I must admit I preferred the live stage production to the movie. Having said that, I give all due respect to it’s three main actors. Streep and Haufman are two [...] I have shaved Beth’s head. It’s fuzzy. Actually, it looks pretty cool. Still it is not the look she is intending to use on stage tomorrow night. Alycin gave her a wig and she will wear her waitress-like bandana over it. We have three shows left of “Italian American Reconciliation” and Beth’s hair will not be [...] So the first weekend of the Italian American Reconcilliation is now officially behind us. Friday night, a nice little crowd filed in and boy were they responsive. Everyone laughed. Mat did not remember all of his lines but he was so good and adlibbed so well that no one noticed. Everyone was awesome. My wife [...] This is the part of the website where I plug stuff I am involved in that I think everyone should be involved in with me. Upcoming Showcase Arts Foundation Inc. events. (I am the Creative Director for this group, SAFI as we affectionately refer to it, but you can call me the “the big cheese”) — November [...] Next month we will be performing the play I personally chose for us to do this year.
