I am a member of several networking groups. We meet at breakfast or lunch or happy hours and pass around our cards and fliers for upcoming events and classes we are offering or special offers our companies are providing. Most of the time we are each given about 30 seconds to about 2 minutes to [...] I had to make a quick dinner for Beth and I tonight and thought I would pass along a little tip. Lisa – listen up – it’s a way to make that freakin’ Ragu Sauce you eat …. edible. Take any decent jarred sauce (even ragu – if they still make that stuff) and start like this. [...] One Christmas, about 20 years ago, my father proudly announced that we would be having a traditional English Christmas that year, complete with fig pudding and a fattened goose. This would have come as no surprise if it were not for the fact that my father was Russian/Polish and my mother 100% Italian. So he cooked [...] Beth and I don’t have any family here but we have great friends. We have them over for lots of occasions and we get invited to do many and sundry things from beach excursions to all day movie fests at the Dow’s. However, on major holidays like Thanksgiving, sometimes, it’s just us. People have families [...] So, my foodie friends, the little cafe that could is no more. The museum has closed it’s doors to the public forever and the Cafe Arte is an official thing of the past. I am a full time LongBar Virtual Creatives employee (and V.P. as always). I will miss the people but not the work so [...] It’s winter in Florida. Time to don your light sweater and consider putting on shoes instead of sandals. Bundle up the kiddies in long shorts and nylon wind breakers before heading off to the beach for sunset. At the cafe, people are eating soup and drinking lattes. Today really marked the start of the holiday season [...] I promised my assistant Kahleigh that I would write something in the blog about her so here it is. Where does a skinny kid like this put the food? I have no salami much of the time and the broccoli cheddar quiche hides from her so she won’t eat it all. Soup is always in [...] Dan had a pizza hallucination …or did he? My friend Dan is a pizza lover as am I. We live in the Tampa area, on the Gulf Coast of Florida, in a town called Dunedin. It’s beautiful. So beautiful, in fact, that Dr Beach declared our beach, Caladesi Island, the number one beach in the country. [...] |
